Andor Botos: Italy is the largest destination market in UBM’s regional strategy
We were honoured to be an exhibitor at the International Produce Trade and Processing Expo (Commodities Exchange Milan, CeMI), which traditionally takes place in Milan every year. The event in May provided an excellent opportunity to meet key international players of the Italian agro-raw materials sector and to discuss key issues in the Italian and European markets for agricultural raw materials. Andor Botos, one of the founding owners of UBM, explained why CeMI is so significant and the importance of the Italian market for UBM:
“As an exhibitor, we participated in CeMI for the first time. We made our debut among the big players with a nice independent stand. What makes the event special is, among other things, that the participants cover the entire supply chain: from producers to importers and exporters of cereals from Europe and beyond, from manufacturers of industrial equipment and packaging to related services, including logistics, transport, banking, insurance and rental. All major local and regional trade partners and service providers were present, including UBM.
The launch of the newly established Italian trading office was a strategically important step for UBM. In UBM’s regional strategy, the Italian market is the largest uptake market. Our other international trading offices, where UBM has built up an excellent buying position, are predominantly net exporters of commodities, so the synergy is clear. A great deal of contact was maintained and established, and we were able to discuss market updates and upcoming business opportunities with a lot of partners. We work for growth every day,” said Andor Botos.
